+ Job summary: Mechanical Journeypersons (Pipefitter ) will work under minimal supervision with high level of independent judgement and problem solving.
+ Qualifications: At least 6 years related experience in Mechanical trade or US DoL Certificate of Completion. Must be able to satisfactorily complete GM hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing and background check.
+ Responsibilities: Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures. Maintain, dismantle, repair and replace mechanical components on industrial machinery such as shafting motors generators air compressors engines pumps cylinders gears couplings linkages ball screws high speed CNC spindles coolant systems filters combustion equipment valves etc., Layout assemble fabricate maintain repair piping systems Use various hand power tools for measuring cutting threading grooving bending soldering assembling joining installing pipes valves fittings Read interpret blueprints for mechanical operation assembly conveyor systems material handling robots automation Operate mobile equipment e.g forklifts vertical lifts cranes Determine loading requirements rig equipment material lifting Set up operate conventional computer numerically controlled machine tools lathes milling machines grinders cut bore grind shape parts prescribed dimensions finishes Fabricate punches tools steel rule tools t-sets exact specifications Plan sequences operations fabricating tools assemblies using blueprints sketches models Determine quality finished products verifying dimensions alignment clearances conformance specifications measuring instruments calipers gauge blocks micrometers dial indicators
