Responsibilities
The Associate Vice President (AVP), IT Procurement - Enterprise Procurement & Supplier Management reports to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Associate Vice President - IT Procurement is accountable for developing, managing, and executing the category and sourcing strategies across all IT categories of spend (Software, Cloud, Hardware, Telecoms & Labor/Services) across the enterprise for Humana, as well as the business engagement of IT stakeholders within the IT organization.
This leader will be an integral member the Procurement leadership team, a strategic business partner to the IT Leadership Team and the IT Finance Leader.
The AVP - IT Procurement will be responsible for:
Leadership of the IT Procurement team in the management of $1.8B spend across IT, the lines of business and corporate functions.
Excellent Stakeholder Engagement:
This position will be a strategic business partner to the IT Leadership Team and be tasked with gaining a deep understanding of the IT business strategy to ensure resulting category and sourcing strategies are in place to drive the greatest value from the external marketplace.
Partner with the IT organization and supplier management functions in identifying, prioritizing, and pursuing short-, mid- and long-term sourcing opportunities.
Establish the role as challenging strategic business partner to the IT Leadership team with the ability to establish meaningful relationships and adapt to the challenger model.
Drive strong demand planning and management, and budget alignment.Leading Category Management:
Lead the IT Procurement and stakeholders in the joint development, execution and monitoring of leading category strategies across all IT categories that drive valuable business outcomes.
Lead and develop the team into a high performing team of procurement professionals who develop category strategies and source suppliers against business requirements for complex, high risk and/or enterprise critical engagements that may have significant impact to Humana's operations or profitability.
Strong supplier management expertise, collaborating with the Vendor Management teams to manage strategic suppliers that achieve sustainable value for the enterprise.
Impact
Develop and lead appropriate business engagement, category and sourcing strategies that support business requirements, develop savings targets, and driving savings across all categories of IT spend.
Recruit, develop and lead a team of high performing category procurement professionals who are responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and pursuing short and long- term opportunities for specific IT spend categories.
Develop supplier negotiation strategies that reflect and maximize Humana's enterprise buying power, focus on service quality/performance and minimize risk exposure.
Lead negotiation process for complex, high value transactions.Collaborate with all levels of management, manage strategic suppliers to achieve optimal value/service/pricing and ensure our strategic direction, operational and quality goals are achieved.
Actively participate in achieving the organization's ESG goals including but not limited to Supplier Diversity and Sustainability.Collaborate with CPO and leadership team to drive stakeholder engagement, category management, sourcing rigor / excellence, talent management and optimization of the procurement target operating model within Enterprise Procurement and Supplier Management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
15 years in a procurement function, with majority experience across multiple IT spend categories, with IT Labor/Services specifically
5 years of management experience, leading through both authority and influence; including a proven ability to recruit, develop and retain key talent.
Proven ability to develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies, concepts, and governance.Current expertise in IT category sourcing including supplier base (market leaders and niche providers), service offerings/differentiation, cost and savings drivers and leading practices/market trends
Executive presence, ability to influence senior executives and to foster productive working relationships with a diverse group of partners and peers.
10 yrs contract/supplier negotiation, preparation and execution skills to achieve desired outcomes from supplier negotiations.Experience managing change across multiple stakeholder groups.
Superior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusions.
Strong conceptual thinking skills with adeptness to lead others through ambiguous and/or complex issues.
Experienced individual directing business case value proposition and sourcing recommendations.
Ability to build consensus and act as an independent arbiter to achieve sourcing outcomes that meet business requirements without sacrificing service or increasing risk/cost.
Experienced individual with oral and written communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with senior leadership.Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare, Pharma, Insurance, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, or Banking/Finance Industry experience
MBA or advanced degree and / or relevant supply management certifications
