    If a position is listed with both office locations and virtual offerings, Comcast may be willing to consider candidates who live greater than 100 miles from the office for the remote option.)Job SummaryThe Analytics & Experiences group (AXP) is part of Comcast Cable's Technology & Product (T&P) organization and serves the larger company with critical business insights tooling and infrastructure.


    The Sift platform which is integral in gaining and visualizing reliable insights needs your help to build out its backend API and monitoring systems.

    You will work with other engineers and analysts with backgrounds in big-data processing and visualization.
    Job DescriptionCore ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes and determines integration needs.
    Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
    Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
    Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
    Edits and reviews technical requirements documentation.
    Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
    Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
    Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
    Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    Writing production-quality, tested code.

    Ownership of code, responsibility for balancing functionality, efficiency, development time and readability, as well as robustnessProducing technical designs and documentation at varying levels of granularityCollaborating with our quality assurance and technical operations teams to provide outstanding customer serviceResisting the accrual of "technical debt" in our systems.

    Building proof-of-concept applications or conducting research experimentsStaying educated on technical developments and tools necessary for the design and maintenance of complex, distributed platforms.

    QualificationsBS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field3+ years of development experience in a combination of Golang and Python or JavaAWS cloud with Lambda / Cloudfront / API Gateway experience a plusDocker experience with building/running/optimizing a plusExperience developing backend applicationsExperience with distributed messaging (Kinesis, Kafka) a plusExperience with SQL, noSQL databases (Redis / Elastic Search / DynamoDB) desiredKnowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) a plusStrong error handling habits and experience with monitoring tools desiredExperience with continuous integration, test-driven-development, automated unit and integration testingExperience analyzing large datasets desiredHands-on experience developing RESTful web services desiredExperience using GIT versioning tool requiredExperience with Agile development methodologies and practices (refactoring, TDD, pair programming)

    UNIX/Linux background:
