    Starting Pay: $ Hourly ($58,512)
    After 1st Year: $ Hourly ($60,268)
    After 2nd Year: $ Hourly ($61,800)

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Five (5) years as a Court Operations Specialist.

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs a variety of highly responsible and specialized court clerical tasks in the Legal Records Division of the Circuit Court; maintains the record of court proceedings; enters information into the court case management software and related tasks associated with the maintenance of court records, assists with staff training and sets the example for superior performance in the area of court record maintenance, supports and assists division management in all aspects; work is performed under the general supervision of the Legal Records Division Management Team; performs related work as required.

    STATEMENT OF TASKS:
    • Assists in the selection and swearing in of jurors and maintains attendance journals;
    • Officially records jury verdicts, motions, and sentences in Circuit Court;
    • Maintains the register of actions for court proceedings;
    • Assists at the point of public access;
    • Responds to questions in person, by telephone or mail;
    • Prepares a variety of reports, as may be required;
    • Maintains court case files consistent with the SCAO case file management standards;
    • Provides guidance and training to designated staff.
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Thorough knowledge of the Legal Records Division, its procedures, policies and information;
    • Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures, equipment, business mathematics and English;
    • Knowledge of the rules and best practices related to court file custody and maintenance;.
    • Ability to assist with training to arrive at uniform and best practices for courtroom and court file maintenance.
    • Ability to learn to operate a computer terminal and word processing equipment;
    • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written direction;
    • Ability to deal with the public including attorneys with courtesy and tact;
    • Ability to write legibly;
    • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships;
    • Ability to work independently, collaboratively and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion.
