    Description

    Position Summary:


    The Production Manager at our manufacturing plant is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the production facility.

    This position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, applying Lean Manufacturing principles to ensure optimal performance.

    The Production Manager will play a vital role in meeting customer demands, managing resources efficiently, and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operational Leadership:
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operations team.
    • Develop and implement efficient operational processes to enhance productivity.
    • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and Six Sigma techniques.
    • Administer policies and procedures consistently, supporting a continuous improvement environment.
    • Production Planning:
    • Manage the production process in a Just-in-Time and Customer line set manufacturing environment.
    • Collaborate with production planning teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
    • Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet customer demands.
    • Ensure production lines operate at designed efficiency and productivity.
    • Manage the material in Work in Progress (WIP).
    • Provide input on the manufacture of new products and assist with their introduction to the facility.
    • Quality Control:
    • Implement and maintain quality control standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Ensure that products meet customer quality requirements and support the quality management system (IATF 16949:2016 & Environmental ISO
    • Analyze production data to identify and address areas for improvement in quality.
    • Resource Management:
    • Optimize the utilization of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
    • Develop and implement cost-effective measures to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Instill the philosophy of "safe work habits" and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
    • Set up ergonomic workstations in a one-piece flow environment.
    • Implement and enforce safety policies to create a secure working environment.
    • Team Development:
    • Establish a team-oriented atmosphere, treating people with respect.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor operations staff.
    • Assist in the formation/updating of training programs for employees.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
    • Actively promote positive employee relations and support human resources administration.
    • Identify training and career development opportunities for staff and develop objectives to improve performance.
    • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and achieve organizational goals.
    • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
    • Performance Monitoring:
    • Ensure plant goals and metrics are obtained, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance.
    • Implement corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.
