    Overview

    This position provides office support, assisting the Registered Land Surveyor (R.L.S.) in the preparation of typical survey projects, such as boundary surveys, subdivision plats, construction calculation, topographic and route projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform survey tasks as per the direction of the Survey Project Manager and Project Surveyor.
    • Completes detailed drawings from field survey data, sketches, plans, specifications, and written or verbal instructions using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, or Trimble Business Center.
    • Provides technical support for assigned projects.
    • Reviews work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to RLS for review.
    • Prepares field packages, drawings, exhibits, legal descriptions, and completes simple calculations with specific instructions.
    • Conducts field checks upon request.
    • Compiles, manipulates, and analyzes survey data.
    • Develops and maintains databases of survey data.
    • Assist with deed research and abstract deeds, create base maps for field crews, process field crew data, and produce final drawings.
    • Processes acquired field data into a neat and accurate plat of survey and/or Metes and Bounds description.

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree, certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • 0-4 years of experience.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3-D, , Carlson Survey, or Trimble Business Center.
    • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
    • Effective time management and organizational skills.
    • Flexibility to change priorities on job tasks and/or project deadlines, as needed.
    • Ability to handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher level staff.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written.
    • Must be dependable and reliable.
