Concrete Superintendent - Boise, United States - Petra Inc
Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Concrete Superintendent is responsible for overall direction of staff and guidance to concrete crews. This role works directly with the Regional Concrete Superintendent to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate and collaborate with Petra's Concrete and SPD Divisions regarding daily/weekly/monthly equipment maintenance and/or materials deliveries.
Provide proper and adequate scheduling of concrete foreman, carpenters, and laborers up to 5 days in advance to ensure project deadlines are met.
Oversee daily activities and training for concrete crew.
Participate with General Concrete Superintendent in hiring and handling personnel performance issues and disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
Utilize established survey pins and elevation benchmarks to accurately lay out building sites.
Coordinate and schedule installation of reinforcing steel.
Oversee all project schedules for timeliness and the highest quality standards.
Responsible for production, quality control and ACI on each job.
Coordinate and implement installation of concrete blankets and winter protection
Based on individual project needs will order and procure all non-concrete materials necessary to the project.
Work with the Project Superintendent, calculate and provide concrete orders to General Concrete Superintendent.
Monitor costs and implement controls to ensure projects remain within budget.
Delegate daily inventory list to foreman.
Delegate responsibility for equipment fuel and maintenance.
Work directly with superintendent's sub-contractors to develop and maintain professional business relationships.
Maintain open and honest lines of communication with Superintendents, sub-contractors, and employees.
Implement and ensure all OSHA safety standards on each job site.
Oversee safety training of crews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years' experience concrete and/or craft supervision experience in similar construction industry.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required
Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to utilize computers and software to complete assignedduties.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and stoop throughout the day.
Ability to complete tasks while donningsafety PPE where required.
High schooldiploma or equivalent.
