Carilion Clinic is accepting applications for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiologist with fellowship training in Body Imaging to join the Department of Radiology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
The Department also includes 6 dedicated Interventional Radiologists, 1 Neuro-Interventional Radiologist, 5 dedicated Breast Imaging Radiologists, and six additional Diagnostic Radiologists that are based at Regional Hospitals outside of Roanoke.
In additional to body imaging, other Radiologists in the practice have fellowship training in Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Neuro-Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, and Molecular Imaging.
The body imaging section offers several advanced imaging services for our patients including ultrasound, ultrasound elastography, dual energy CT, CT colonography, CT angiography to support our active endovascular service, and advanced body MRI services including: abdominal MRI with liver composition imaging, MR enterography, multiparametric prostate MR, rectal cancer staging MR, and gynecological oncology staging MR.
We collaboratively participate in multiple tumor board conferences including weekly abdominal oncology conferences, weekly general oncology conferences, weekly thoracic oncology conferences, as well as a twice-a-month inflammatory bowel disease conference.
Although the primary focus of this position is body imaging, candidates must also be able to interpret general neuro/chest/MSK radiographs/ultrasound/CT studies.
Carilion Clinic continues to experience growth which has led to several new expansion projects including a 300 million-dollar, 400,000 square-foot expansion to CRMH which will include new facilities for the Carilion Cardiovascular Institute as well as significant expansion of our Emergency Department.
CRMH is a 703-bed flagship hospital in Southwest Virginia, the third largest hospital in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a designated level 1 trauma center, and a designated Stroke Center serving over one million people.
CRMH and associated imaging centers are state-of-the-art facilities with seven CT scanners (including four dual-energy scanners) and five Siemens MRI scanners including three 3-Tesla systems (2 Aera, 1 Skyra, 1 Verio, 1 Vida).
Technology platforms include Sectra PACS, Powerscribe 360, EPIC EMR, and Syngo.Via advanced image processing.
All Radiologists at CRMH have academic appointments at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and light teaching responsibilities for medical students and non-radiology residents.
