Psychiatrist Opportunity at Pittsburgh, PA VA Medical Center

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides psychiatric consultation for geriatric Veterans at the VA Community Living Center (CLC).
Manages geriatric Veterans in outpatient settings.
Delivers a wide range of psychiatric services, diagnoses psychiatric illnesses, particularly for geriatric and complex medically Veterans.
Offers comprehensive interventions.
Collaborates with professional staff in Behavioral Health and other specialty programs.
Implements and documents psychiatric treatment plans for assigned Veterans promptly.
Functions independently within the Behavioral Health service line at VA Pittsburgh Medical Center with full clinical privileges.
Provides outreach services to Veterans and families as necessary.
Develops and sustains a high-quality Inpatient Behavioral Health service program to meet all requirements.
Participates in program evaluation and quality improvement projects.
Conducts consultations for Behavioral Health clinicians on complex cases.
Supervises psychiatry residents and fellows and acts as a mentor for junior psychiatrists.
Ensures proper coordination of services with other medical programs.
Adheres to national and local performance measures for quality care delivery.
Attends administrative meetings and participates in ongoing program evaluations.
Provides clinical guidance and training for staff and residents.
Strategically plans and prioritizes operational aspects of the Behavioral Health Service Line.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
