PURPOSE OF JOB :
Performs duties necessary to provide a safe, clean, and orderly environment for patients, surgeons and other staff in Surgical Services (OR, PACU, SDS and InPatient GI)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Provide a clean and orderly environment in all Surgical Services areas . Actively support the optimization of patient flow through all of Surgical Services . Exhibits excellent customer services skills and provides safe and efficient patient interaction with consideration for age-specific accommodations. Actively participates and supports department and organizational quality initiatives and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education:
Able to read, write and communicate fluently in the English language

High School Diploma/GED requiredExperience:
Environmental Services or other hospitality related experience preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, equipment, handling of waste disposal and soiled linen handling preferred.


Other Skills:

Ability to work independently and be part of a teamMust possess the ability to problem solve, demonstrate good judgement and make good decisions.

Ability to function under occasional pressure
