    Position Summary

    Coordinate, review, monitor, and finalize construction bid documents, contracts, and inter-governmental agreements; serve as administrative focus for Construction Contract matters and issues; coordinate with Department of Municipal Development management, Legal Department, Purchasing Department, and contractors; provide support to Project Managers, Department Attorney, and SAC Administrator; ensure compliance with established laws, ordinances, resolutions, policies and procedures; and perform a variety of tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

    Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

    Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

    Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, technical writing, communications, or English; and

    Three (3) years of experience in contract compliance monitoring or assisting in the preparation, development, bidding, execution and performance of construction contracts and architect/engineer agreements; and

    To include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
    Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
    Preferred Knowledge
    • Compliance monitoring and tracking procedures
    • Methods and techniques of contract analysis
    • Principles and practices of construction contracts and regulations
    • Preparation of contracts and agreements
    • Computer database management and tracking systems
    • Modern office procedures, including methods and operation of office equipment including computers
    • Intermediate level computer processing programs such as Word and Excel
    • English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
    • Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
    Preferred Skills & Abilities
    • Ensure contract compliance
    • Monitor and assist in the negotiation of construction contracts and agreements
    • Interpret and explain City policies and procedures
    • Prepare clear and concise reports
    • Communicate clearly and concisely
    • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including DMD personnel, contractors, architects, engineers, City officials and the general public
