    Paragon seeks a Nuclear I&C Mechanical Engineer to support nuclear power plant control, monitoring, and safety systems development.

    • Lead mechanical hardware design and delivery of instrumentation and control cabinets and consoles for nuclear power plants
    • Define mechanical hardware requirements for new mechanical components
    • Design mechanical hardware components, such as cabinets, consoles, brackets, enclosures, test fixtures, and other related hardware
    • Prepare/review design documentation, including mechanical hardware drawings, material evaluations, stress calculations, seismic analysis, commercial grade dedication plans, etc.
    • Collaborate with system engineers and electrical hardware engineers to model the system and generate electromechanical drawings
    • Test mechanical hardware prototypes for fit-up, analyze, and document results
    • Oversee mechanical hardware vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure products meet specified design

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or similar required
    • Minimum 5 years experience as hardware design engineer or similar required
    • Nuclear safety related I&C system development project experience highly desirable
    • Experience creating drawing packages for complex assemblies, such as I&C cabinets with nested bills of materials, highly desirable
    • Solid modeling application experience, such as Solid Works, required
    • Desirable skills: mechanical drawing best practices, mechanical component manufacturing processes, designing for manufacturing
    • Proven ability to create positive change, think creatively, and respond rapidly to changing priorities and customer needs
    • Able to handle multiple tasks, projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
