Description The In-House Intellectual Property (IP)

Legal Counsel will be responsible for:
Develop and implement intellectual property, patent, trademark and copyright strategies to protect new and existing company assets.

Manage patent portfolios, including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications.

Collaborate with research/ development teams of inventors to identify and safeguard new innovations.

Patent protection and prosecution, handle IP disputes, including litigation support and resolution strategies, managing outside counsel as required.

Negotiate and draft IP-related agreements, such as licensing and joint development agreements.

Work directly with senior stakeholders to providing guidance on intellectual property matters.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to intellectual property in the industrial and manufacturing sector.

Profile The successful In-House Intellectual Property (IP)

Legal Counsel should have:
Bachelors degree in engineering/ electrical engineering.

Juris Doctor law degree.

Admission in good standing to the Massachusetts bar.

Registered Patent Attorney in good standing at the USPTO.

5+ years relevant IP experience.

Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, particularly in patent prosecution, patents, copyright and trademarks matters.

Experience working within the engineering/ electrical/ industrial and manufacturing sector.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working directly with senior leadership teams providing legal counsel in a fast paced environment.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Job Offer The In-House Intellectual Property (IP)

Legal Counsel will benefit from:
Competitive base salary ranging from $180,000 to $225,000 USD.
