    Summary

    The Principal Engineer position will be responsible for driving innovation and technology building blocks by staying at the forefront of relevant new technologies.

    This position will also be a key in providing technical expertise and training to other design engineers within the organization.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Develop new products (platform or Customer Lead Opportunity - CLO) that meet performance, cost and quality requirements
    Use of computer aided design and analysis tools to optimize designs in an efficient manner
    Create technical tools and models that can be used by other design, manufacturing, or quality engineers
    Subject matter expert in multiple disciplines
    Position requires 10-25% travel
    Representative Decisions
    Tools and technology readiness approval for complex components, processes, and products
    MRB dispositioning
    Input on business case for selection of new opportunities and platform products.
    Assigning resources to projects and tasks.
    Expected Outcomes
    Impactful new product introductions that leverage new technologies (on-time, on budget and meeting performance specifications)
    Satisfied customers who continue to call us when they have new applications and projects
    Technology blocks that are indexable, portable & scalable
    Technology tools and strategies that are industry leading and drive a competitive advantage
    Key/select engineering staff are advancing in their careers by developing advanced technical knowledge
    Delivers designs that are easy to manufacture and meet customer performance and price targets.
    Compensation

    Base pay range:
    $100,725 - $157,000

    This salary range is provided in good faith and is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States.

    Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

    Education and Experience Requirements
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    12-15+ years required experience
    Subject-matter expert in one or more technologies
    May be recognized as an expert in the industry (committee membership, standards, etc.)
    Tracks and/or develops new technologies that may be applicable to strategic initiatives
    Expertise in development and/or use of multiple design tools and programs
    Expert understanding of design, product development, and manufacturing principles
    Ability to support and collaborate with other functional departments
    Ability to help secure new customers by demonstrating technical capability and to develop optimized solutions
    Ability to solve complex problems
    Ability to coach, mentor, and train technical and commercial team members
