Description

The Forklift Operator uses powered industrial forklifts to move materials throughout the distribution center and place product in designated areas. Forklift Operators primary function is load/unload trailers per customer specification and put product away in the warehouse. Inspection of material/product on in-bound and out-bound shipments is essential.

Schedule

7a-7p 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule

*Primary Responsibilities: *

Communicate with co-workers and coordinate to receive instructions and coordinate activities

Operate forklift equipment loading, unloading and storing product

Ability to stack and store merchandise in appropriate areas

Utilize our scanner process and RF scanners

Audit paperwork -- ensure packing list matches what was received

Checking loads for damage

Maintaining forklift equipment -- proper inspections, and safety standards

Preparing pallets for shipment -- may need to band them, wrap them, etc.

Basic math and counting skills

Be a self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working in close proximity to others

Working with heavy machinery and products

Moderate to high noise levels

Tasks may require both indoor and outdoor work assignments

May be subject to hot and cold temperatures inside the warehouse depending upon outside weather conditions

Occasional manual labor
