Registered Nurse (RN) Full Time, Position in the Intermediate Care Unit at Northwest Health - La Porte Hospital

• New pay rates available
• Full time: 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts
• Hours: 7p - 7a. Weekend and holiday rotation required. No call required.
• Eligible for shift differential

About our unit:

• 30 Bed unit with wall monitors and telemetry
• Unit currently accepts COVID patients (anywhere from 4-10 COVID patients on average)
• Good unit for building foundational skills as a nurse. New RNs are accepted on this unit.

The IMCU RN provides direct and indirect patient care in a therapeutic manner focusing on a multidisciplinary approach. Nurses can expect to treat patients requiring a level of care higher than med-surg but lower than ICU. Patient ailments and acuity level will vary.

La Porte is a 227-bed hospital providing acute care with strong programs in cardiology, orthopedics, surgical services, emergency care, oncology and maternal health.

As of October 2020, our new and improved La Porte location opened. This location features the latest technology for our staff and providers. Our hospital is La Porte's only stroke center and nationally accredited chest pain center.


Employment Requirements:

• Successful completion of drug screen
• Employment background check

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required, BSN preferred.

Licensure & Certification:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
• BLS certification must be maintained while in this position
• ACLS certification within 12 months of hire, must be maintained while in this position

Experience:

• 1 year of hospital experience preferred
