    Description


    The Substation Design Engineer will play a crucial role in our EPC Division, supporting all phases of physical substation design.

    This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including sales, project management, and vendors, to ensure the successful execution of high-voltage substation projects.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Review equipment specifications and data sheets to support proposal development.
    Evaluate vendor proposals for major equipment based on technical criteria.
    Incorporate vendor drawings into project designs using AutoCAD software.
    Gain expertise in various substation design and implementation techniques to meet project requirements.
    Support pre-bid and customer meetings to discuss design considerations and project scheduling.
    Develop engineering proficiency to either lead design efforts or oversee subcontractor support during field activities.
    Establish and maintain a system for evaluating design quality control and implementing long-term design management strategies.
    Ensure proper documentation of project drawings and other relevant documentation.
    Cultivate strong relationships with vendors to enhance project outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
    Implement cost-efficient design methods across all EPC and Package projects.
    Generate Bills of Material (BOM) for project materials and equipment.
    Acquire working knowledge of project operations to optimize design techniques.
    Provide design support to the project management team as needed.
    Develop technical documentation for various project requirements.
    Collaborate closely with Project Management to propose cost-effective design changes and updates.
    Oversee the entire physical design process for assigned projects.


    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred; Technical Degree equivalent will be considered.
    Proficiency in Substation Design.
    Familiarity with AutoCAD Design Software.
    Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.


    Salary Range:
    $70,000- $115,000


    Shift and Hours:
    Monday- Friday


    Type of Job:
    6 Month Temp to Perm.
