    Description
    Job Title: Psychiatrist

    Location: State of New York

    Job Summary:

    Prioritize providing mental health services to individuals under the OMH umbrella by offering comprehensive, recovery-oriented psychiatric treatment. As a medical doctor, you will ensure seamless integration of mental and physical health services, leveraging principles of effective, measurable, and accountable care. Additionally, you will serve as primary prescribers in psychopharmacology, an integral component of modern mental health treatment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide psychiatric care and treatment services to assigned individuals under direct supervision.

    * Independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide psychiatric care and treatment services to assigned individuals, while providing clinical supervision and guidance to lower-level psychiatrists, physicians, and/or other medical providers, and may manage care and treatment services for an assigned facility, unit, or program.

    Requirements:

    * Licensure and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.

    * Certification in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

    * One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, for candidates from within State Service.
