    • Unit: Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) – 29 beds
    • Start Date: March 9, 2026
    • End Date: June 8, 2026
    • Duration: 13 weeks
    • Shift: 12?hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
    • Hours per Week: 36
    • Weekend/Holiday: 4 weekend shifts per 4?week schedule; holiday rotation required
    • On?Call: Not required
    • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
    • Charting System: Epic EMR
    • Float: May float to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown units as needed
    • Orientation: 12 hours

    Job Requirements / Qualifications

    • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU/CV PICU) experience required
    • Clinical Background: Pediatric and cardiovascular ICU experience; post?operative cardiac surgical care
    • Preferred: Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience — VAD training provided upon arrival
    • License: Active South Carolina RN license or Multi?State/Compact RN license (pending SC license considered with proof of application)
    • Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and PALS required; AHA ACLS preferred
    • Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
    • Travel Nurses: First?time travelers welcome

    Responsibilities

    • Provide high?acuity pediatric cardiac critical care for congenital and acquired heart disease patients
    • Care for post?operative pediatric cardiac surgery patients, heart transplant recipients, and those requiring advanced therapies
    • Monitor and manage advanced devices and therapies including ECMO, CRRT, VADs (Berlin Heart, HeartMate 3, Impella), ventilators, and continuous sedation/vasoactive infusions
    • Perform hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, blood draws, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, dietitians, IV team, social services) to optimize patient outcomes
    • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR and adhere to unit safety, quality, and infection prevention protocols
    • Participate in unit?based initiatives, quality improvement, and support pediatric palliative care as needed
    • Float to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown units within scope as required
