- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- Minimum two years of experience in academic advising in a higher education setting
- Minimum two years working with online learning in higher education
- Demonstrated work with students across a broad spectrum of academic majors to achieve education goals
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Coordinate curricular needs with the University's academic leaders
- Perform or oversee all registration and advising functions for non-traditional online students
- Monitor student progress and respond to student alerts through Warriors360
- Maintain regular contact with non-traditional online students until they have transitioned to their last semester
- Participate in student engagement and retention efforts through the Warriors360 Committee
- Participate in graduation fairs, ceremonies, and adjunct faculty seminars
- In conjunction with Admissions, visit potential partners to provide information on online learning and degree completion opportunities at RCU.
- Coordinate with community partners such as Michigan Training Connect (MiTC), Michigan Works, Michigan Rehab Services (MRS), TEACH, etc. to insure all information is correct and students have access to maximum benefits
- Collaborate with admissions regarding admissions process and new student onboarding
- Maintain full-time hours with regular office hours on main campus 3-4 days per week.
- Promote an inclusive RCU through demonstration of our Diversity Statement. Participate in developmental activities to increase understanding and awareness of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion both individually and as related to your field of work, profession, or discipline.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Success and Retention
- Demonstrated advising, mentoring or counseling skills
- Excellent judgment and respect for confidentiality
- Knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other databases
- Knowledge of the College's student management system (CAMS) strongly preferred
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with academic colleagues in development of academic advising to retain students in their first year of college and move them into their major course of study
- Ability to deliver timely, accurate and precise information in a multi-task environment
- Supportive of the University mission. Indicators of this support include a demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and being active in a local church.

DEPARTMENT: Student Success and Retention
REPORTS TO: Dean of Student Success and Retention
UNIVERSITY MISSION: Rochester Christian University prepares students for professional and personal success as they serve in God's world.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Director for Online Student Success will oversee and manage all academic aspects of the Accelerated Learning (online) program to provide increased degree completion opportunities for students in online and non-traditional programs. The Program Director will oversee long-term strategic vision and annual implementation plans to build and increase a strong online program. The Program Director will collaborate with internal and external constituencies regarding aspects of the program, ensure transition of new online students from admission to matriculation, provide academic advising support through graduation, and monitor academic progress for at-risk students across accelerated programs.
