    Title: Head of Accounting Regulatory Policy

    Office Status: Hybrid 1 or 2x a week in Jersey City

    Salary: $215,000-$230,000

    A midsized global investment bank that recently reached a new threshold from a capital standpoint transitioned from a US Branch to an IHC. This position is responsible for overseeing a team that does research, analyses, writing, and dissemination of information by prescribed IFRS, U.S. GAAP and U.S. Basel rules. This person will implement and provide accounting research of capital markets and complex investment banking transactions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review & update U.S. GAAP & IFRS accounting policies and U.S. Basel regulatory policies
    • Transaction review & accounting / regulatory analysis
    • Emerging guidance tracking, implementation & presentation
    • Accounting / Regulatory research
    • Financial statement / regulatory filings review
    • Attending industry meetings / conferences
    • Leading discussion on accounting / regulatory policy related matters on new products and complex transactions
    • Supervising the Regulatory Reporting Policy and Accounting Policy functions

    Qualifications:

    • CPA (or equivalent), with at least 20 years of public and private accounting experience in financial services working on investment securities, loans, leases and derivatives with at least 5 years of accounting / regulatory policy experience and 5 years of public accounting experience (accounting advisory or on call experience is preferred) and expertise of U.S. GAAP / U.S. Basel rules and knowledge of IFRS (Japanese GAAP is a plus but not required).
