    Description
    POSITION: UTILITIES MECHANIC PAY PLAN: Hourly
    1st Shift
    PURPOSE OF POSITION:
    Safely perform repair work on all auxiliary equipment, utilities and distribution systems within the plant.
    WORK PERFORMED:
    • Determine the cause of mechanical/electrical breakdowns on utility equipment and return equipment to proper operating order in minimum time.
    • Completely assemble or disassemble electrical/mechanical support equipment as required for repairs or installations.
    • Make all necessary mechanical and basic electrical adjustments to support equipment to insure proper operation.
    • Regularly inspect support equipment and oil, grease, clean, repair, or modify same in performing preventive maintenance routines.
    • Maintain required maintenance logs on utility equipment, blue prints on other documents used in performing maintenance functions.
    • Order spare parts, replacement parts and other materials required.
    • Effectively and safely, use a wide variety of common hand tools and all shop machines (including welders).
    • Perform all tasks following established safety and maintenance procedures and maintain cleanliness and condition of tools used, shop floor and utility areas.
    • Enter in all work through CMMS system and complete all assignments as directed by supervisor.
    • Communicate with maintenance supervisor and/or technical manager about on-going issues and ability to provide resolution with proper documentation and root cause analysis.
    • Complete all required safety work orders and report back to supervisor upon completion
    • Other duties as assigned
    REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
    • 2-5 years industrial maintenance experience with emphasis on facilities.
    • Must have good theoretical and applied understanding of mechanical and electrical theory, instrumentation and the manufacturing process.
    • Able to read blue prints, schematics, specifications and building plans.
    • Able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
    • Able to organize time effectively.
    • Able to work effectively with co-workers in a team environment.
    • Requires attention to detail.
    • Maintain Pesticide 7G license.
    • Thorough knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, HVAC and boiler operation.
    • Capable of, and commit to follow the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines and ISO procedure
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • Good mathematical skills.
    • Continuous learning will be expected
    • Able to work overtime & holidays as required
    • Must provide personal hand tools
