    Staff Physical Therapist

    Location: Williamsburg, Virginia, United States

    Fulltime/Permanent Position

    JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES*:

    • and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
    • effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefits.
    • and measure patient's strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency and record data.
    • manual exercises, massage and/or manual techniques to help relieve pain, increase the patient's strength, and decrease or prevent deformity or disuse.
    • treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, modalities that are at the facility.
    • and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol.
    • patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home with the Home Exercise Program (HEP).
    • with the patient, medical practitioners, and appropriate clinical staff (PTAs and Techs) to plan, implement, and assess the intervention program.
    • physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine the diagnosis and physical therapy.
    • prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter info into EMR.
    • educational information about physical therapy and physical therapists, injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote health.
    • all notes no later than 24 hours to keep compliant with Medicare guidelines.
    • information to the patient about the proposed intervention, its material risks and expected benefits and any reasonable alternatives and obtain patient's informed consent to proposed interventions.
    • patient from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow up care or referrals.
    • and document goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
    • the patient when diagnosis reveals findings outside of the therapist's scope and refer to an appropriate practitioner.
    • and supervise supportive personnel, assessing their competence, delegating specific tasks to them, and establishing channels of communication.
    • physical therapy students as well as those in other health professions.
    • fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices including braces and recommend modification to orthotist.
    • maintain, and repair medical supportive devices.
    • and maintain effective working relationships with all clinic and administrative staff.
    • regularly with referring physicians to promote a strong relationship that is both beneficial to the patient and the practice.
    • work area, exam rooms, and supplies.
    • and support research and apply research findings to practice.
    • and maintain effective working relationships with patients and their families and demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others while building trust and positive rapport.
    • evaluate utilization and quality data and make necessary modifications in performance.
    • and accurately diagnose health problems and implement appropriate treatment plans.
    • regular clinic hours as approved by Lead Therapist.
    • all Clinic policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, professional conduct, and personal appearance.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Bachelor's in physical therapy
    • Qualification: Licensed in the State of Virginia
    • Experience: 1 to 2 years
