    CMT is seeking a Principal Automation Software Engineer to help our Engineering Productivity team build durable, sustainable and scalable infrastructure systems, CI/CD pipelines and developer tools, while continually looking for opportunities to increase automation and efficiency. In this role you will work closely with members of the Engineering team to define requirements and support the build, test and deployment of software into production.     Responsibilities:

    • Guide, support and mentor junior developers on proper software development procedures and methods
    • Support our engineering team by improving efficiency through automation and tooling
    • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions
    • Manage and maintain development, testing, and production environments
    • Automate deployment processes and implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
    • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
    • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes
    • Collaborate with other technical leads and stakeholders to develop project plans and participate in resource planning
    • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
    • 7+ years of relevant working experience
    • Strong experience with Python language
    • Creating, maintaining:
      • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins
      • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
    • Comfortable working with AWS services:
      • EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS (Postgres), DynamoDB
    • Knowledgeable of containerization technologies (specifically Docker)
    • Understanding of Agile development methodologies (specifically SCRUM)
    • Ability to work independently and learn and adapt quickly

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience with other CI/CD systems: Bitrise, AWS CodeBuild, GitHub Actions
    • Experience with other programming languages: Java, Groovy, C++, with the desire to learn more
    • Experience with DataDog
    • Experience with SonarQube / SonarCloud
    • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet
