- Be a strong contributor on a team tasked with delivering infrastructure and civil engineering projects which includes site design, grading, stormwater management and treatment design, sanitary sewer system design
- Be responsible for preparation of calculations, layouts, modeling, estimates, drawings, and specifications under the direction of senior engineers and project managers.
- Lead and guide junior engineers and CADD teammates.
- Work as part of an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve technical challenges.
- Use software and other tools to develop designs and organize work.
- Gather, research, and maintain engineering data records including tests, drawings, and field data.
- May attend site visits and meetings with clients and contractors.
- May be responsible for construction observation and limited administration.
- Read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills.
- Increase knowledge through continuous learning within and outside the organization including pursuit of an advanced engineering degree.
- Play a primary role in an integrated, multi-discipline team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size and difficulty.
- Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager.
- Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, project schedule; provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget.
- Understand the client's organization, key people, and client expectations.
- Share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self/team.
- Develop person-hour estimates/budgets with guidance from senior staff.
- Lead small team for moderately complex projects.
- Assist in proposal efforts and development.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers and others as needed.
- Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients/contractors.
- Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentation in a public setting (for clients or at seminars/conferences).
- BS or MS degree
- 4-9 years of experience
- PE Licensure in one or more of the following: NH, VT with ability to obtain reciprocal licenses in other New England states.
