    I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Reviews engineering changes and updates inspection requirements as appropriate.

    Review blueprints/specifications to establish manufacturing/gauging feasibility, including QA

    inspection planning, special gauging and associated documentation.

    Works with quality manager as required for systems standardization.

    Establishes statistical process control (SPC) procedures as required by contract.

    Trains workers in statistical process control (SPC) procedures and quality control activities.

    Develops sampling procedures and operator instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

    Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

    Receives and documents customer complaints and returns.

    Processes returned goods including identification of root cause where applicable.

    Identify ongoing quality issues on the production floor by appropriate means and make

    recommendations on improving the capability of production tools.

    Interface with customers, engineering, and operating companies in negotiating quality issues

    relative to print and specifications capability.

    Manage production part approval (PPAP) activity.

    Interact with team members to communicate part requirements.

    Create job instructions.

    Performs testing and process studies as required

    Other job-related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS


    Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or 4-5 years related experience in Quality Engineering/Assurance field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Strong technical skills and an understanding of statistics. Experience in plastic processing preferred.

    occasionally when inspecting product. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral

    vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Should be able to safely operate cranes, forklifts and other equipment necessary to perform job.

    Job involves visual effort and concentration.

    Good hand-eye coordination.

    Accuracy.

    Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.

    Driving is required.

    Mental activities necessary include manufacturing knowledge and other practical and problem-solving skills.

    PPE – Safety Eye Wear, Cutting Gloves when using a knife, and cotton gloves when handling hot parts.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
