Durham VA Health Care System is hiring for an RN Nurse Manager in Mental Health for Outpatient . The Nurse Manager holds the responsibility for implementation of the Vision, Mission, and Values of the DHCS within their defined areas of responsibility. The Nurse Manager is engaged in administrative nursing practice characterized by both increased complexity of clinical decision making and enhanced skill in nursing management.Duties
The Registered Nurse Manager of the Mental Health Clinic is accountable to ensure nursing practice of all staff adheres to established policies, standards of care and standards of practice; demonstrating leadership in improving nursing care; and the administration, management, supervision and evaluation of both nursing care and nursing personnel on designated units, both, inpatient and outpatient areas, as assigned for the Medical Center at all times inclusive of off tours, weekends, and holidays. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring that subordinate nursing personnel provide timely nursing care which complies with generally accepted standards of clinical practice. This includes the authority to accept, amend or reject the work of subordinates. The incumbent has continuing responsibilities for all the following functions:Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the organization.
