Overview:

Under the guidance of the RN or LPN, aids in the personalized patient care to help the patient achieve optimal well-being. collaborates with others as a team player; acknowledges the significance of collective objectives. Executes specified clinical procedures and non-clinical support duties crucial for patient care.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT, or enrolled in a healthcare career program via high school coursework, and/or a current Mercy employee.
• Experience: None necessary
• In Missouri: If no prior experience, Mercy offers a mandatory 175-hour training program meeting state requirements. The training will be part of the new employee orientation and must be completed within 90 days of hiring to retain the PCA role as per state standards.
• Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hiring, completion of PCT competencies within 3 months of hiring
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Includes prolonged standing and walking during each shift
  • Demands the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat for task completion
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic, or Previous Patient Care Experience
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in Oklahoma, Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
