Job Title Assistant Director of Facilities Reports To Director of Facilities and Campus Operations Castilleja is a dynamic diverse and intentional educational community for students in grades 6–12 that believes in the power of women learning and women leading Founded in 1907 Castilleja fulfills its mission to educate young women to become confident thinkers and compassionate leaders with a sense of purpose to effect change in the world Every member of the Castilleja community is responsible for fostering an equitable respectful and just community We value building and sustaining authentic relationships work together to create a collaborative learning working environment We are dedicated to a program that is responsive to students needs identities demonstrates commitment antiracist values pedagogy Position Overview The Assistant Director of Facilities supports Director of Facilities Campus Operations ensuring safe efficient effective operation schools physical campus This position assists oversight daily operations related building maintenance transportation grounds maintenance event support also serving Certified Pool Operator Key Responsibilities Maintenance Support Director Facilities Campus Operations overseeing coordinating campus maintenance needs preventive maintenance repairs vendor management Event Management Assist logistics large campus events ensure appropriate setup breakdown coordination facility resources Transportation Manage transportation operations including vehicle scheduling student home-school transportation athletics field trips Responsible driver oversight compliance safety Assist offsite parking neighborhood parking management Grounds Supervise groundskeeping team maintain safe attractive functional outdoor spaces Aquatics Serve one of schools Certified Pool Operators ensuring pool operations meet all health safety regulations Fire & Life Safety Support fire/life-safety compliance through oversight alarms fire sprinklers extinguishers inspections drills coordination local officials Leadership Communication Provide day-to-day leadership facilities staff communicate effectively colleagues contractors administrators assist emergency response planning execution Organization Project Management Assist planning execution facilities projects maintain organized records work orders inspections safety checks Manage pool landscaping budgets forecasting vendor contracts routine maintenance long-term planning Qualifications years experience facilities maintenance or operations preferably school environment Strong knowledge troubleshooting skills building systems HVAC electrical plumbing fire Preventative best practices safety standards Knowledge OSHA Hazard Mat training Certification CPO or willingness obtain hire Experience teams teams managing multiple priorities simultaneously Excellent leadership organizational written verbal communication Valid drivers license ability operate school vehicles Ability strategically hands-on fast-paced environment Preferred Skills experience software systems databases apps Google Excel Schooldude Brightly etc Familiarity Transportation Demand Management TDM programs strategies Experience non-profit setting Technical horticulture landscape management Sustainability practices facilities grounds management Physical Requirements Lifting Carrying Frequently lifting carrying pushing pulling usually up pounds Mobility Regularly standing walking periodically climbing ladders stairs Physical Dexterity Frequently bending kneeling reaching overhead Compensation Salary range this position from $105,000 $115,000
