    Job Description:

    Education:

    Student worker pursuing a degree in Museum Studies, History, Journalism, Religion, or English with a minimum cumulative Baylor grade point average of 2.5.


    Compensation:
    Stipend of $9.25 per hour for undergraduate for up to 20 hours per week.


    Position Description:


    The Texas Collection is seeking a student worker to participate in a variety of projects associated with archival collections, rare books, maps, or photographs.

    Under appropriate supervision, the intern will be responsible for fulfilling a wide variety of tasks.

    Responsibilities:
    The specific duties of this student worker may include:


    • Inventorying, processing, and preserving archival collections and helping to build finding aids.
    • Working on special projects related to the manuscript, map, photo, and rare book collections.
    • Monitoring researchers in the Guy B. Harrison, Jr. Reading Room and assist patrons with scanning.
    • Assisting with special projects and duties as assigned.
    • Communicating with other Baylor Libraries interns and participating in professional development activities.
    • Writing brief weekly updates and a final report of internship activities and accomplishments.

    Note:

    Ability to work with limited supervision and be able to show initiative and good decision-making within the assigned area.

    Must be detailed oriented, an experienced user of Microsoft Word and Excel, and possess good research and writing skills. Must be able to lift boxes and other heavy materials.
