    Description

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Use expertise in behavior analysis to collaborate with school-based teams in the creation of comprehensive and individualized plans that promote effective instruction in the least restrictive setting.
    • Conduct FBAs (Functional Behavior Assessments), develop BIP (behavior intervention plans), define objective/measurable target behaviors and design appropriate data collection systems.
    • Prepare and present reports as requested by special education/administrative personnel to reflect progress toward goals/objectives.
    • Model intervention, instructional techniques and data collection procedures for direct service providers.
    • In conjunction with the educational team, review and interpret data to monitor the effectiveness of the program(s).
    • Provide crisis intervention, as needed, including but not limited to verbal discussion, processing with students and/or staff and the application of physical intervention using approved safety care methods.
    • Train faculty, staff and/or family members on the implementation of the behavior support/instructional plan, including techniques to support students in the least restrictive environment.
    • Conduct fidelity checks to ensure proper implementation of instructional and/or behavior support plan(s).
    • Provide ongoing professional development as it relates to instruction and management of students with cognitive and/or social emotional learning needs.
    • Participate in scheduled meetings with building personnel for plan development, progress review and/or data based decision making.
    • Provide ongoing support, modeling and consultation to teachers, instructional assistants and related service providers.
    • Upon request of the Administrator, work a flexible schedule to accommodate program/student needs before or after school hours.
    • Adhere to the professional conduct and scope of practice as outlined in the BCBA Ethics code.
    • Maintain clear lines of communication and professional boundaries, and implement supervisors feedback to improve professional practice.
    • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the building administrator and/or Director of Student Services.

    Qualifications:

    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
    • Ability to conduct assessments to address behavior, social skills and skill acquisition.
    • Experience developing, writing, implementing and evaluating individual and/or group programs.
    • Demonstrated expertise in staff training for associated skills.
    • Demonstrated competence in behavior management skills, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations.
    • Ability to independently schedule activities to accomplish tasks and priorities within defined timelines.
    • Ability to professionally collaborate and consult with administrators, teachers, instructional assistants, parents and related professionals.
    • Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the assessment of students and development of positive support plans.
