    Accounting Manager

    The overall purpose of this position is to ensure the organizations financial records remain accurate while meeting reporting deadlines. This position helps to establish internal controls and guidelines for preparing transactions that complying with general accepted accounting principles. This position will also assist in coordinating the budget preparation process to ensure financial reporting accuracy.Essential Functions:

    + Assist with monthly and year end accounting close to meet required deadlines.

    + Prepare and manage general accounting entries: inventory, fixed assets, prepaid assets, accruals, and revenue recognition.

    + Lead and train team members to ensure prompt and accurate execution of accounting and financial reporting processes.

    + Perform monthly expense variance analysis versus budget and other analysis and investigate trends and significant variances.

    + Assist with daily and weekly treasury functions.

    + Ensure that accounting records, reports, and supporting documentation follow GAAP and government regulations.

    + Work closely with external auditors during annual audit.

    + Manage ad hoc or ongoing accounting projects.

    + Perform any other related duties and assignments as needed.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position manages employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department.

    Work Environment:

    This position operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, read and to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. This position is primarily stationary, operating a computer for extended periods of time. This job may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office supplies and equipment, as well as performing physical tasks such as bending and stooping to file.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    + Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.

    + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification.

    + At least 4-6 years of accounting experience.

    + In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and internal controls.

    + Experience in leading a team.

    + High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.

    + Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Highly detail oriented.

    + Ability to work cross functionally to achieve desired results.

    + Maintain a high level of confidentially and professional skepticism.

    + Must have a moderate to high level of competency in MS Word and Excel.

    + Ability to work well in a team environment.
