    The Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pharmaceutical services (prescriptions, unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical infusion pumps and teaching) throughout the Medical Center complex 24 hours per day. The Department is comprised of three inpatient and six outpatient pharmacies, a sterile production lab and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores and distribution.

    **Responsibilities**

    The purpose of this position is to provide all aspects of technical support services under the supervision of an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, including the monthly nursing and pharmacy area inspections.

    **Required Qualifications**

    Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.

    California State Board Pharmacy Technician License.

    At least 1-year outpatient pharmacy experience, working as a Pharmacy Technician.

    Recent experience working in an Outpatient Pharmacy setting (within last 2 years).

    Knowledge of third- party insurances, Medicare Plan-B, and/or manual claims.

    Knowledge of current Medi-Cal Formulary and other third- party billing systems.

    Knowledge of current California Pharmacy Law.

    Per Diem Staff must be available to work a minimum of 3 8-hour shifts per week.

    Working knowledge of pharmacy terminology, generic/brand name drugs and abbreviations

    **Preferred Qualifications**

    Experience and working knowledge within a Outpatient Pharmacy

    Knowledge and Capability of Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding

    Ability to operate Pharmacy Information System and other computer programs.

    **Special Requirements**

    Incumbent must adhere to the customer service principles of UCDHS. Must be able to work occasional overtime, usually during computer failure,

    un-anticipated staff shortages, or, unusually heavy dispensing periods. No smoking allowed in work area. TB test and blood serum sample required annually per JCAHO Standards. Must dress in a professional manner, as outlined by the Departmental dress code and have good personal hygiene. Must be able to competently staff all UCDHS Pharmacies and perform all job tasks in all areas of outpatient pharmacy. **Must be able to work minimum of (3) 8-hour shifts per week, to include evenings**, **nights, rotating weekends, and holidays.** Special protective equipment must be used for preparation of hazardous substances and spill clean-up.

    This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
