- The Clinical Documentation Integrity Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the processes and personnel for reviewing physician and ancillary documentation concurrently to determine severity of illness, risk or mortality, specificity and etiology of diagnoses while following proper documentation standards.
- Facilitating appropriate level of reimbursement based on patient health status and services rendered.
- Ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of severity of illness, risk of mortality and resource utilization in alignment with recognized patient care standards.
- Offering continuous education to physicians and staff on clinical documentation standards.
- Managing day-to-day operations and tasks of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program.
- Providing education and assistance to the patient care team on documentation guidelines for precise and detailed recording of provided patient care.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to CDI.
- A copy of your highest academic diploma or transcript OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Preferred
- Strong clinical skills with a minimum of five (5) years' hospital experience in various clinical environments, including a minimum of three (3) years' recent clinical experience in an inpatient medical-surgical or intensive care setting.
- Proficiency with EPIC, 3M 360, Queries by eMD.
- Prior experience in Clinical Documentation Integrity role within a clinical setting is advantageous.
- Prior experience as an inpatient medical coder is beneficial.
