- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
- Possession of an active New Mexico Sign Language Interpreter License or Certification
- New Mexico Teaching Certificate is required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Provide sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, discussions, and activities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support students' educational goals
- Adapt interpretation techniques to meet the individual needs of students
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
