- Troubleshoot mechanical problems and repair as necessary.
- Complete preventative maintenance on all types of vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair diesel/gas engines.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
- Complete DOT Inspections, COMAR
- Complete alignment check
- Complete A/C work
- Ability to maintain daily organization of all applicable paperwork pertaining to repair orders, parts orders.
- Proven welding ability preferred.
- Ability to work in an autonomous, safe and professional manner.
- Participate in continuous ASE, dealer re-certification to remain in job classification.
- Must be able to read and comprehend service and repair manuals.
- Provide professional and respectful treatment to drivers, visitors, employees, and management.
- Ensures all personal protective equipment is used as required.
- Uses computers to issue parts and update comments on work orders/task list including.
- Attach test instruments to equipment and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunction.
- Maintain equipment and routine maintenance.
- Performs inspection, maintenance, and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, such as trucks, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Preferably minimum 3+ years working in a busy automotive service department or independent mechanic shop.
- Valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations preferred.
- ASE certifications preferred Mechanical or Engineering Technician Certificate or Degree
- MUST HAVE your own basic mechanical tools and transportation.
