Position Summary
- Responsible for preparing and performing all office-based Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac PET diagnostic procedures, maintenance of the nuclear medicine and PET/CT lab while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and proficiency with the appropriate clinical protocols.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiography or Nuclear Medicine.
- License/Certifications: Licensed Radiologic Technician in Nuclear Medicine required. Certification from either the NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or AART (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) required. Current BLS certification.
- Experience: Minimum two years practice or hospital experience.
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging techniques and computer applications.
- Knowledge of safety, infection control, quality assurance and confidentiality regulations.
- Knowledge of physical sciences, biological effects of radiation exposure, radiation protection and procedures.
- Skill in administering radiopharmaceuticals and in operating camera and computer for imaging.
- Knowledge of crash cart emergency procedures and contents and proper response to emergency situations.
- Knowledge of safety, infection control and quality assurance protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient computer skills.
