Job summary
The Trayline Attendant performs a wide range of tasks including assembly of meals and cleaning/sanitizing equipment and workstations.The Room Service Attendant ensures a high-level of patient satisfaction with regard to customer service, quality of food, accuracy of the menu, timeliness of tray delivery and pick-up among other services offered within the department.
- Assembles patient meals as ordered through the At Your Service Room Service Dining system.
- Prepares and stocks food items in advance for peak meal periods (fruit cups desserts beverages oral supplements).
- Maintains proper levels supplies stock for assembly trays complete assigned side work throughout shift cleans sanitizes workstations counters equipment examines filled trays completeness places cart brews coffee tea maintains cleanliness assigned area time adheres safety infection control policies procedures takes records temperatures refrigerator freezer hot holding assists dish room needed returns clean sanitary tray line equipment tries assembly area prepares floor stock sheets established par levels gathers delivers puts away floor supplies nursing unit kitchens rotates discards outdated perishables keeps kitchen kitchen equipment clean organized follows HACCP Procedures delivers patients meals bedside table responds questions patients family members regarding meals menu selection process assists patients opening containers utilizes scanner track status retrieves soiled trays patient rooms nursing units return dish room inspects trays belongings medical devices medications communicates special needs requests patients nurses managers education changes diet order meal acceptance etc portions labels tube feedings supplements accurately maintains condition formulary room inventorying supplements storeroom preparing list necessary attends allergy foodborne illness training participates regular safety meetings hazard assessments attends designated programs
