    Systems Development Engineer

    The Plant Systems team is looking for a motivated team member to work on New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts using the agile development process. This is a highly collaborative, learning environment with an opportunity to develop new technology and products. This specific position focuses on developing capabilities to support Normally Unattended Facilities for our customers.

    What you will do:
    • Development of Algorithms to safely extend times between machine trips
    • Development of virtual sensors and fallback controls schemas
    • Advanced tuning methodologies
    • Sensor selection and development including camera solutions
    • Physics based modeling
    • Data Analysis
    • Anomaly detection
    • Predictive analytics and controls
    • Field evaluation/troubleshooting
    • Direct customer interface
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of related industry experience
    Top Candidate will also have:
    • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
    • Physics based modeling - system modeling in MATLAB, Simulink
    • Data Visualization/Analysis
    • Turbomachinery subsystems & balance of plant knowledge
    • Control systems knowledge
    • Field or test cell experience
    • Great attention to detail
    • Knowledge of the Agile/Scrum -Process

    Compensation & Benefits

    Base salary for this role ranges from $117,940.00, to $176, Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:

    Summary Pay Range:
    $117, $176,910.00

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
