    1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Exempt
    Typically works Monday through Friday 7:30a – 4:00p. Must be flexible for occasional meetings/assignments outside of core Human Resources business hours, including weekends.

    Position Overview:


    The Benefits and Leaves Specialist will assist with the development, implementation, and administration of the total rewards package, the leaves of absences processes and support our wellbeing initiatives with internal and external customers.

    Responsibilities include the administration of medical, dental, life, disability, qualified and non-qualified retirement programs.

    The coordination and processing of our Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) processes, personal leaves, along with other state and federal leave requirements.

    The Benefits and Leaves Specialist will perform ongoing analysis of programs and coordinate with vendors and brokers on the administration of the day-to-day activities for these processes
    Health & Welfare benefits responsibilities include: education of benefits to caregivers, administration of enrollments and eligibility, COBRA process, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, life events & AD&D claim
    Retirement plan processing includes administration of contribution processing, QDROs, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing
    Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
    Reconciles and makes payment for monthly invoices
    Assists with new-hire orientations and benefits onboarding tasks
    Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
    Assists employees with benefits claims issues and plan changes as needed
    Distributes benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility
    Administers all leave of absence requests and disability claims paperwork for any medical, personal, educational, or FMLA
    Tracks hours and eligibility for FMLA/Leaves of Absence process as applicable
    Acts as a subject matter expert for FMLA as it relates to leaves of absences
    Deploys the open enrollment process; from program analysis, to presentations and enrollment changes
    Develops and maintains online forms and benefits information
    Administers the tuition reimbursement programs and the Caregiver Relief Fund Program
    Drives process improvement and documentation, identifies and tracks valuable metrics
    Assists with various research requests including timely responses to audit inquiries; may
    Assist in developing and preparing reports, letters, etc.
    Builds collaborative relationships with organizational leadership, insurance companies, third party administrators, consultants, brokers, and other benefits vendors for best organizational benefit outcomes
    Manages the wellbeing programs and initiatives for internal and external stakeholders
    Other duties as assigned

    Skills and Experience:
    3+ years Human Resources experience required
    PHR, CEBS designations preferred, but not required
    Benefits or leave experience highly preferred
    Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office 365 products, presentation software, proficiency in Excel, highly preferred
    Experience navigating complex compliance requirements, and federal and state regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, Medicare, Section 125, etc. and Social Security highly preferred
    Experience with HRIS software preferred, Experience with UKG systems strongly preferred
    Prior experience in a health care environment is strongly preferred
    Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

    Physical Demands:
    Sedentary work.
    A fast-paced, people-oriented business environment with frequent interruptions and interactions
    with employees, managers, administration, and outside representatives

    Required Work Schedule:
