    The successful candidate will join our Hardware Mechanical Engineering team within Airborne Surveillance in support of the Multi-Role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) Surveillance Radar.

    Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer:

    Bachelors Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience . Or a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in STEM.
    Experience with 3D CAD model based software and analysis tools
    Experience with MS Office suite tools
    Experience with mechanical design
    Ability to obtain or maintain a DoD Secret Clearance or Higher.
    Basic Qualifications for Principal Mechanical Engineer:


    Bachelors Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhD in STEM Field.

    Experience with 3D CAD model based software and analysis tools
    Experience with MS Office suite tools
    Experience with mechanical design
    Ability to obtain or maintain a DoD Secret Clearance or Higher.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in flight qualification of mechanical and electrical hardware
    Experience with Design for Manufacturing
    Experience with manufacturing execution systems, SAP, and other production coordination tools
    Experience with composites
    Execute through mechanical analysis of the design, detailed drawing creation, and system installation while managing cost, scope, and schedule of the design
    Select and analyze material for strength, weight efficiency, and corrosion considerations
    Write documentation for production and maintenance procedures
    Support design through system installation, testing, operation, and training
    Active DoD Secret clearance or SCI access
    Ability to operate in a large team environment
    Excellent communication and technical writings skills
    Experience with design and development of precision electro-mechanical components and assemblies
    Proficient with ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100 engineering drawing practices
    This position is contingent on the ability to obtain or maintain a US Secret Clearance or higher.

    This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

    Salary Range:

    $75,700 - $113,500
    Salary Range 2:

    $93,000 - $139,600

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
