    Overview:

    OB/GYN (5B) is a 32-bed unit providing care for post-partum, mother/baby couplets and medical-surgical patients. Patients served include various GYN conditions, GYN/Oncology, Obstetrical Complications, and Mother/Baby Couplets. Our medical/ surgical population consists of various GYN surgical procedures, bariatric weight loss surgical procedures, colon resections and other minor colon surgeries, and general medical patients. Nurse to patient ratios is 1:5-6 and PCA to patient ratios 1:6-8. All staff work 12-hour shifts, 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700, which includes alternating weekends and holidays.

    Qualifications:

    Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
    Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
    Physical requirements/demands:
    • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
    • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
    • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

    • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
