    Position SummaryBaptist Health Pharmacy teams are committed to ensuring the optimal, safe, and effective use of medications for all patients through advanced technology and innovative application of skilled personnel to improve clinical outcomes and community health in a value-based environment.

    The primary purpose of the Pharmacy Technician is to assist the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager with serving customers and maintaining the Community Pharmacy at Baptist Health.

    This position requires taking responsibility within appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for many of the medication preparation and distribution duties.

    Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms all functions and duties with the patient at the center, ensuring prompt and friendly service in the Community Pharmacy.

    Performs all tasks associated with the filling and dispensing of Community prescriptions as permitted by state law including but not limited to:

    computer order entry, updating patient personal and insurance information, filling and labeling prescriptions, and completing transactions at the point of sale.

    Delivery of medications to discharging patients per Pharmacist's requests.

    Assists in inventory management processes including:
    order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.
    Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.

    Ability to prioritize workflow by patient impact and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed at the end of the shift.

    All identified problems, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, will be reported to the Pharmacist.
    Completes prescriber outreach for prescription refills under direct pharmacist supervision.
    Assists with scheduling and coordinating home delivery for prescriptions.

    Escalates all identified problems or patient complaints, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, to the Pharmacist to ensure timely resolution.

    Completes other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Community Pharmacy Manager.

    Minimum Education and TrainingRegistration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, within 30 days of hire date if you are a new registrant.

    If previously registered you must have registration upon hire.
