    Position Overview:

    As a Senior Portfolio Analyst, you will manage a significant loan portfolio comprising large, complex commercial and mortgage loans, including those participated in or syndicated with other Farm Credit Associations or Commercial Banks. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas: Permanent Plantings, Winery, Vineyard, or Row Crops.

    You will analyze new loan applications and servicing requests by thoroughly reviewing financial statements and credit information to develop comprehensive credit packages. Additionally, you will assist the Relationship Manager in gathering information for informed credit decisions and serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, making recommendations aligned with our Loan Underwriting Standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the Relationship Manager in collecting necessary information for credit decisions by engaging with customers to discuss their financial submissions and operations.
    • Lead customer follow-up conversations regarding application packages.
    • Create and manage detailed credit packages and loan servicing actions.
    • Handle more complex credits within the portfolio.
    • Analyze credit information and determine the need for additional investigations or details.
    • Request appraisals, verifications, credit reports, and lien searches as required.
    • Conduct loan analysis, including financial statements and cash flows, while drafting narratives and providing opinions on creditworthiness and risks.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in sound credit administration practices, identifying risks and inconsistencies.
    • Input required data into financial analysis and loan processing systems.
    • Make approval recommendations based on Loan Underwriting Standards and regulatory compliance, particularly for complex credits.
    • Prepare materials for Participation/Syndication partners and attend lender meetings as necessary.
    • Utilize analytical skills to evaluate loan requests and offer informed opinions on creditworthiness.
    • Monitor the assigned portfolio for potential servicing needs, ensuring compliance with loan terms.
    • Review legal documentation and coordinate with relevant parties for loan closings.
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and represent the underwriting team in collaborative projects.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Supervision Levels:

    Typically operates without direct supervision but may mentor others; makes independent decisions while working under the general supervision of the Director of Underwriting or a designated manager.

    Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in agribusiness, business administration, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of experience in banking or agricultural lending.
    • Strong analytical skills for assessing loan requests and determining creditworthiness.
    • Understanding of agricultural lending principles and policies.
    • Familiarity with Participation and Syndication credits.
    • Knowledge of FCA regulations and organizational procedures.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Effective interpersonal and persuasive skills.
    • Proficiency with PC applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.

    Job Requirements:

    The role requires the ability to perform office tasks in a typical work environment. Candidates must be capable of sitting for extended periods and working on a computer. Good communication skills are essential for team collaboration. Some physical tasks may involve lifting items up to 25 pounds. Work is primarily during business hours, with occasional evening or weekend commitments. Travel may be necessary.

    Part-Time Remote/Hybrid Employees: These employees will work a combination of remote and onsite schedules, coordinating with managers to determine on-site needs.

    Compensation:

    Salary Range: $98, $171,887.88 annually. This reflects the national average adjusted for geographic variance based on the candidate's location.

    The salary range is reflective of base pay expectations; adjustments may be made based on qualifications and experience. Salary is one part of the overall compensation package.
