    Position Summary:


    This position will be primarily focused on estimating and bidding projects within COLLAGE'S transportation sector, including train station projects around the country.

    A solid understanding of and ability to manage the preconstruction process is essential, and this individual will be expected to fulfill their preconstruction functions while also building & maintaining strong relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors alike.

    This work will happen in a team environment alongside a collaborative group of other preconstruction team members.

    This position will have the opportunity to travel 1 to 2 times a month by car or plane to attend one-day site-walks or meetings, and to be part of an exciting and growing sector at COLLAGE.

    Essential Responsibilities Include:

    • Assessing bid opportunities alongside the Preconstruction Team
    • Attending pre-bid meetings and site walks to evaluate existing conditions
    • Studying project plans and specifications to ensure adequacy for a complete estimate, submitting formal requests for additional information as needed.
    • Performing quantity takeoffs utilizing Bluebeam and other estimating software platforms
    • Trade contractor solicitation and bid package assembly.
    • Securing and leveling subcontractor bids.
    • Developing accurate estimates ensuring they reflect recent cost data or subcontractor bids
    • Developing project-specific General Conditions & General Requirements (GC/GR) studies with input from the Operations Team
    • Developing estimate schedules to support the logic of the GC/GR study
    • Leading final bid review meetings with the preconstruction and operations teams prior to bid submission.
    • Providing leadership and guidance to junior employees involved in bidding and estimating.
    • Completing bid forms accurately and delivering completed bids on-time
    • After project awards, lead the pre-operations turnover meeting involving multiple departments
    • Provide post-bid analysis of unit costs for various building systems, for use in future estimates.

    Education / Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
    • 8-12 years of experience as an Estimator or Preconstruction Manager

    Work Environment:
    This position is assigned to the COLLAGE corporate headquarters in Lake Mary, FL. The position will involve working independently at your workstation as well as collaboratively in a group environment at times.

    This position is full-time and expected to work normal hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm) as well as overtime as needed to complete responsibilities of the position and the demands of bid deadlines.


    Physical Requirements:
    This position could involve periodic travel to construction sites where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
