    We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Specialist – Gas Treating in our ORCM Reliability and Maintenance Group in Pecos, Texas.


    This position is accountable, cooperatively with other line functions, to meet the goals of Occidental Oil & Gas in Safety, Environmental and Production.

    Contribution to meet these oals will be achieved by maintaining the workplace in a safe and reliable condition in addition to, but not limited to, the following:

    ·

    Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate, as our highest priority

    Assure compliance to Policy and Procedure expectations/standards (MOC's, PSSR's, Procedures, Audits, etc.)

    ·

    Ensure others including yourself, are respected, supported and encouraged to grow and succeed in their job

    ·

    Support R&M Team to drive uptime improvements for gas lift compression and gas sales compression

    ·

    Support the high-speed compressor maintenance staff to implement best maintenance practices and provide technical expertise to reduce costs, and improve process uptime and mechanical reliability

    ·

    Support compression surveillance to maximize uptime and throughput

    ·

    Support OPEX reduction and compression optimization initiatives

    ·

    Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance for critical compression equipment (including but not limited to compressors, dehydration & JT ) to maximize uptime and throughput

    ·

    Lead/Support RCFA's for critical compression equipment failures

    ·

    Grow in knowledge to become a subject matter expert for compression and dehydration system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization

    ·

    Assist with training of operations staff with respect to dehydration system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization

    ·

    Support continuous improvement & maintenance program optimization

    ·

    Provide feedback to Facilities Engineering Team to improve design reliability and operation

    ·

    Monitor scheduled work and assure it is performed according to the job plan

    ·

    Responsible for housekeeping and safety in assigned work and areas

    ·

    Coordinate the use of contract resources

    ·

    Cooperate with other company groups to meet business goals

    ·

    Manage backlog of work orders to maintain plant reliability

    ·

    Track PM work orders and HES Work order backlog to complete in timely manner

    Qualifications:

    ·

    High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

    ·

    3-5 years of industrial experience in operating, troubleshooting and/or maintaining of Central Gas Lift processes and equipment including but not limited to gas dehydration systems, membrane fuel treatment systems and/or Joule Thompson fuel treatment skids

    ·

    Knowledgeable in Oil and Gas Industry and best practices

    ·

    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

    ·

    Demonstrated strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

    ·

    Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team and with other teams or departments

    ·

    Must have valid driver's license with a good driving record

    ·

    Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft office software (preferred)

    Safety and Physical Requirements:

    ·

    This role is occasionally subject to possible hazards (e.g.chemical, extreme heat or cold, exposed heights)

    ·

    Ability to travel to all areas within a facility which may require climbing, ascending and descending stairs traveling long distances as required

    ·

    Lifting, carrying, stooping and reaching

    ·

    Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required

    ·

    Ability to respond to audible and visual alarms
