We are looking for a component engineer to support Strategic Microelectronics at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.

Duties include:
Provide component engineering support to technologist team, to include writing technical reports

Advise military programs and designers on part selection

Troubleshoot component issues and recommend solutions

Understand electrical test methods and techniques, failure analysis tools and techniques, and material analysis tools and techniques

Interface with program offices, prime contractors, designers, parts manufacturers, test labs, and other government agencies

Develop and review test plan documentation

Provide complete life-cycle support of strategic systems

Participate in Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Audits, participate in Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC) meetings, and perform reviews and make recommendations on Military Performance Specifications and Test Methods

Travel is required 25-50% of the time

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience

Component or Systems Engineering experience

Ability to communicate ideas to customers, program office, colleagues, and contractors

Understanding of Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn more complex functions

Ability to write technical reports

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Please note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of military industry standards (MIL-STD)

Component Engineer with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE parts

Understanding of the differences between military, industry, commercial, and automotive standards

Active Secret Clearance
