    Job Summary
    The Network Administrator is part of the Network Engineering team and provides network management for NRTC members.

    The Network Administrator is the first line of support for troubleshooting and making configuration changes on NRTC members network devices.

    This position is responsible for assisting with monitoring and provisioning of member network devices.

    The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively with internal NRTC teams, external vendor support teams, and NRTCs members.

    The Network Administrator must have excellent customer service skills and be able to deliver seamless and positive support experience for our members.

    Responsibilities

    Assist with provisioning network devices for our members to include Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Arista, Nokia, Ruckus, Dell, Ciena, Calix, and Adtran Layer 2/3 devices
    Onboard, configure, and monitor member network devices via our Kentik & DDoS mitigation services
    Use Network Configuration Manager (NCM) to monitor CVE and EOL/EOS status
    Use NCM to gather data and build reports in support of semi-annual network reviews
    Attend member onboarding, network reviews, and other meetings with an engineer as needed
    Onboard and configure both internal and external VPNs
    Support our Meraki service and devices
    Directly interface with NRTC members in support of contracted services
    Answer escalated incoming problem calls from members and work with the member to find resolutions to their questions and concerns
    Assist with member onboarding tasks
    Maintenance and patch management as assigned by the network engineers

    IP management troubleshooting to include:
    DHCP, Radius, etc...
    Document NRTC processes and procedures for troubleshooting and testing
    Perform pre-planned after-hours maintenance work to help support both our members and internal networks and services
    Perform basic network troubleshooting
    Provide ongoing communication to both members and engineering staff during service outages
    Perform other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Experience required in writing network documentation, network specifications/requirements, presentations, correspondence, studies, reports, and training materials.
    Demonstrated ability to properly develop and maintain accurate documentation.
    Demonstrated ability to properly support network services remotely
    Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with our members and internal teams.
    Ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
    Strong teamwork skills
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and take end-to-end ownership of issues
    Ability to prioritize and work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
    Ability to methodically troubleshoot basic network related issues as they arise
    Must understand basic internet functions such as DHCP, DNS, and Radius services
    Minimum Education and Experience

    Associate degree or higher in applicable IT related field or actively pursuing
    Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIA certification required but does not need to be current
    Must have worked for at least two years in other NOC, support engineer, or service administrator position with required network knowledge
    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
    Physical Demands

    Work is currently performed in-office or remote but is subject to change with notice
    This role requires the individual to be available to work 8am-5pm EST M-F
    This role will require the ability to lift at least 40 pounds
    Minimum domestic travel may be required
