    As one of the fastest-growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we're looking for an experienced REMOTE ACCOUNTING MANAGER.This position will be 100% remote but we are looking for someone in the Central or Eastern Time Zone.


    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the activities of the overall general accounting function.

    This position will implement and maintain accounting systems, oversee people, procedures and policies ensuring the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and will act as a liaison between the accounting department and operational teams, trading partners and external auditors.

    The Accounting Manager will be a key team member and a hands-on contributor in managing Payables and Receivables activities, Fixed Assets, and contractual and regulatory compliance.

    The desired candidate will help elevate the overall performance, sophistication, and impact of the accounting function as it relates to talent, systems, processes, and business unit support.

    The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Corporate Controller.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Coordinate monthly financial close including completion of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and preparation of analyses to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
    • Coordinate Finance and Accounting use of the Company's ERP system and financial reporting software, including user licensing/permissions, chart of accounts maintenance, monthly/annual close and consolidation and system enhancement.
    • Prepare financial statements, financial analyses, government reporting, and certain state and local tax returns.
    • Coordinate with an external public accounting firm to ensure a clean and timely year-end financial statement audit.
    • Develop methodologies for handling new financial reporting requirements, analysis, internal controls, and audit requirements.
    • Collaborate with operational leaders to support overall department goals and objectives.
    • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting/accounting transactions.
    • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
    • Provide training to staff as needed.
    • Monitor and tracking capital investment activities.
    • Develop strategies and a plan to meet the long-term financial goals of the company.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures in regard to finances.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required. years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Excellent financial analysis skills.
    • Good oral/written communication skills.
    • Excel experience required.
    • Experience with ERP Software, SAP
    • Business One is preferred but not required.
    • Ability to work both independently (without supervision) as well as with a team.
