    Description

    EDUCATION:

    Must have Masters degree in Nursing, current RN license in Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and current BLS certification.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Requires four to five years of progressively responsible nursing experience including a minimum of two years clinical experience and two years teaching experience within the past five years. Evidence of clinical competence in area of clinical instruction required.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    Demonstrated management, teaching and interpersonal skills in directing and supporting the faculty and students.

    Ability to organize responsibilities, make decisions, and demonstrate critical thinking.

    Sensory:

    Visual, hearing and tactile ability sufficient for observation and assessment.

    Affective:

    Interpersonal abilities sufficient to interact with individuals, families and groups from a variety of social, emotional, cultural and intellectual backgrounds.

    Psychomotor:

    Physical abilities sufficient to move from room to room and to maneuver in small spaces. Gross and fine motor abilities sufficient to provide safe and effective nursing care such as lift, move and position clients; use equipment and administer CPR.

    Scope of Position Responsibilities

    For Supervision:

    Responsible for the course related activities of all faculty in the course, and for all students in the course.

    For Internal/External Relationships:

    Must be able to initiate and support affiliations with clinical agencies, utilize community resources, work with multi-disciplinary teams, and facilitate relationships among faculty, staff and students.

    Limits of Authority:

    Functions independently within the broad scope of established department policies and goals; generally refers specific problems to Associate Director for clarification of operating policies and procedures.
